“For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.”” – Romans 8:15
There are two vital things in the above passage – the spirit we did not receive and the Spirit we have received. The word “receive”, indicates that there is a giver.
Why did we receive the Spirit of adoption? What is the purpose of the Spirit of adoption? Have you received the Spirit of God? If you have, do you know what you have received?
All lives are patterned after the spirit that works in them; and this applies to your life as well. The bible made it clear that God did not give us the spirit of bondage again to fear. So where did we get fear from? What spirit is behind our struggles in life? Is it the Spirit of God? If it’s not the spirit of God, where did we get this other spirit from? These are questions we should ask ourselves and answer.
God gave us His Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out ‘Father’. The Spirit we have received is what legitimizes our right in His kingdom and as His children. It is our guarantee and the seal that we are members of God’s family and partakers of His divine nature.
We must know, without any doubt, that we have the Spirit of adoption and not the spirit of bondage again to fear. It is the Spirit of God that helps us accomplish many things in life. Many believers struggle because we do not communicate consistently with the Holy Spirit and we are not receiving DAILY GUIDANCE. Yes, DAILY GUIDANCE.
The Spirit is speaking, but are we listening? Check the trends in your life to determine how much room you are making available for the Holy Spirit. We need to learn to listen and follow the guidance of the Spirit of God in order to avoid the unwarranted struggles of life. Seek to fellowship with the Spirit daily and see how easy life can really be.
God bless you!
