God has made everything really simple in order to make life easy for us. It is how we approach and interpret spiritual things that creates a form of complexity in our minds. For instance, it is easy to understand that diamonds are precious; it takes a lot of effort to produce a piece of it. The same goes for gold and other precious stones and metals. But, for man, it is challenging for us to understand that our life is precious as well. We have the same life as God. God’s life. How more precious can our lives get than that? Ernest Holmes said we have the same life as God; and the difference is not in quality but in degree. (Creative Mind and Success.)
You may still have the question, “Why are we special?” Here is how I will explain the answer to that question. There is nothing of great value that is without a price. All precious things are appealing, attractive, and command attention. Therefore, there is an obligation to secure such items from unauthorized access. Documents containing national secrets are secured in fortified locations; and access is given only to particular people who have the security clearance known as “Top Secret” or “Need to Know”. Before qualifying for a secret clearance, you must be a citizen of that country and must have gone through a thorough background check. The background check is what allows authority to dig into how you have lived your life till date. Your finance, relationships, interests, places you have been, how you conducted yourself in those places, the association(s) you belong to, and other crucial aspects of your life for over 15 years, get scrutinized during this check. If you are cleared and the clearance is granted, there are new rules you must adhere to in order to maintain your new status. You are subjected to that ordeal to ensure you are qualified to receive access to the national or organizational secrets.
Our path is like the above process. Through Christ Jesus’ sacrifice, we have obtained the clearance to access what is important and very precious to God’s kingdom. You and I have God’s ‘Top Secret’ clearance; and that is what our path is designed on. The clearance qualifies us as custodians of God’s true secrets and revelations. The treasures of God are therefore hidden in us, and we are His precious inheritance. When we take this lightly we jeopardize the lives of many citizens, and give the devil access to hurt us and hinder the work of God in our lives. It is called treason. Adam and Eve had their paths set for them in the garden of Eden, but they lost it to the devil. God had to chase them out of the garden and protect the tree of life from unauthorized access.
We are made in God’s image and He has given us His life. We carry unique abilities and creative potentials just like God does. We have His genes, His genius, His wisdom, His creativity, and His intelligence. What we carry is precious, even though we might not know it. But God knows exactly who we are because He created us and effectively crafted our substance and everything that we are. Any wise person would keep and guard their treasure and whatever is precious to them. And that is exactly why God hid our paths in Him. It is too much of a great value to leave it unguarded. This is why our path is guarded and not open to be accessed by just anyone. And this is how you know how special you are.
“You will show me the path of life; In your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” Psalm 16:11
If it is simple enough to understand that God has something precious for us which the eyes have not seen, then it is wise to pray and ask God to for it. Also, if it is convincing enough that without knowing our path our relevance is limited in life, I would encourage us to devote all the time needed to discover it.
I have traveled and driven long distances to meet people who will assist me in my discovery process. Those individuals have found their paths and I needed them to guide me with my process. Men will pay any price to come and seek for what you have when you discover your path. And all of our paths are worth discovering.
At the end of it all, we will give an account of everything we have done in life; whether we accomplished them or not. Ask God to guide and lead you to your path and He will exceed your expectations.
