I watched a two minutes clip of a teaching by a renowned Ghanaian preacher. It established the fact that even though God is our source, He works through men to men. God has not made any man an island; we are inter-dependent. Regardless of our spirituality or belief in God, we can’t exist without the help of others.
Some Christians may assume it’s a sin to trust men because we are only meant to trust God. I agree with the notion that only God is deserving of our total dependence and worship. However, we have to be very careful in discerning between those who God placed in our lives to help us to the next phase in life, and those who may want to harm us.
Not all men are evil. Many time God uses others to reach us. The story of Mordecai and Esther in the bible (Esther 2) is a clear example to remind us that there are still good people that help others. Without the help of Mordecai, Esther would have never become the queen.
It could be in a case of family members like Mordecai and Esther, or just friends like David and Jonathan (1 Samuel 20). The bottom-line is still that you can’t run the race of life alone. You need people; and they are out there. God always has people like King Cyrus in high places to fulfill His mandate for His people (Isaiah 45). And we cannot despise these individuals since they are God sent.
God has entrusted some of the keys we need with people we have not met. Someone has what you need; so God will not leave His throne to help you. But what He will do is direct you to them or vice versa. These are people whose primary purpose is to support whatever our goal in life is.
Many of us struggle with finding and getting connected to those God has sent to help us. But when we eventually find them, things will definitely change. Because of His favor, God will connect you to those who are in the right position to help you; and all you have to do is trust their judgments. Because we all need people; just like we need God.
