How To Get Wisdom

I noticed that there are two common things that many believers struggle with. One is how to hear from God distinctively, and the second is how to get the wisdom of God.

There are however some who are making strides when it comes to hearing God because they have learnt from the many teachings on the subject. But how to get wisdom is seldom taught, so many do not know how to experience it.

Proverbs 8 however gives the framework of wisdom. It is the power of counsel, understanding, inventions, ruling, wealth, riches, creativity, and discipline. It is a gift from God and a delight.

The journey to getting wisdom begins within your heart; because that is the place of God’s dealings with us. If you want wisdom, you have to ask God and seek for it (Matthew 7:7-12). And after asking, we have to be open to the operations of the kind of wisdom you desire.

Whatever wisdom you receive from God will find expression along the lines of your potentials and unique abilities. For the spiritually minded, it will be in the areas of their callings and divine assignments. Wisdom is often reflected in the way people think and make decisions that result in the overall concepts that direct their lives.

There are also those operating in wisdom without recognizing it because they are looking for the spectacular; which makes them unable to acknowledge what they have.

Mostly, wisdom is specific to your purpose. Bezalel and Aholiab’s wisdom was specific to the work of craftsmanship (Exodus 36). Solomon asked specifically for wisdom to lead the people of Israel. Daniel’s wisdom gave him the ability to dissolve hard sentences, interpret dreams, and operate in an excellent spirit.

When asking for wisdom be specific and pay attention to your purpose. You operate in wisdom when you stand in the calling and assignment God created you for. He used wisdom in creating you and your resources of excellence are based on that wisdom.

Solomon reigned with wisdom; Joseph preserved with wisdom; Jesus was full of wisdom. They all had one thing in common – their operation of wisdom was tied to their purpose. Wisdom will always come along while discovering and operating in your purpose.
