The Ocean of Life

There are multitudes swimming in the ocean of life every day. For some, you can clearly see the pain on their faces as they take each stroke and try to maintain their breath. Others are struggling because they are being tossed back and forth by the waves. Though tired and weary, they all continue swimming. Then there are some who cannot swim at all and are drowning.

Surprisingly, many of these people do not know why or what they are doing in this ocean. They are just swimming without any destination in mind. But for how long can they last and how far will they go?

Then there are some who are also swimming along with the rest of the multitude; but they are different. Their ability to maneuver themselves in the ocean seems effortless. They follow paths in the water only visible to them. They glide in the water with expectation and are heading towards a destination. They even attempt to help some of the people struggling, but not many pay attention to them.

In the ocean of life, there will always be those who progress effortlessly while there will be others who are struggling, weary, and drowning. Which one are you?

If you are truly tired of the weight of this world on your shoulders, let the Lord take it. I’m not talking religion. Because if you know Jesus, you are among those swimming effortlessly (Matthew 11:27-30). If not, the struggle is real, and the duration and destination are unknown.

You however don’t have to continue to struggle when life can be effortless. The tides are swirling, and it’s about to get more dangerous. The world is heading to a place of uncertainty; but in Christ, you can rest assured that you will not get weary or drown.

All you need to do is to connect with the wisdom of God and watch as your life takes a new turn. Let Jesus become all you need and you will find yourself gliding in the ocean of life effortlessly.
