What is the highest price you have paid for anything in your lifetime? If this price was not paid to seek wisdom, you still have one more price to pay. And this is the price to avoid living without the wisdom of God. Why is this important? If according to the scripture, God delighted in wisdom while creating heaven and earth, how could us mere mortals live without it? If God requires wisdom to accomplish His daily routines, how could we possibly survive without it? Think about it.
Let me assure you that wisdom is available if you passionately desire it. The price of foolishness is too high; living without wisdom is unthinkable. So whatever it takes, you must pay the price to get wisdom.
Now, how can you get wisdom? It is God who gives wisdom and understanding. Humans communicate from the resources we have as mortals. Our intellect, knowledge, mindsets, and whatever ideas we are exposed to are what constitute the height of our wisdom. But when God speaks, He speaks from His resources as God; and that is His wisdom.
Wisdom is the platform of God’s operation. Nothing from Him is short of who He is as God, and all of it is the personification of excellence and wisdom. There is no foolishness in God. His communications and actions are embellished in wisdom. Thorough and persistent fellowship with God expose you to His wisdom, which will inevitably rub off on you.
The companion of fools behave foolishly, but those who associate and spend quality time with God will function in His wisdom. However, your heart must first desire such a relationship with God – which is one where you can hear Him and follow His instructions. Within that communication and obedience is where you will gain wisdom.
The ability to hear what God is saying, and at the same time do whatever He is asking is wisdom (Matthew 7:24-27). So seek wisdom and set yourself apart from the blindness and delusion that will overwhelm the lives of people with no wisdom.
